Hand Washing 30°C for Lambskin Products
You will need
- Lanolin-based wool conditioner (lanolin is natural wool fat) – Available in our shop. It restores the natural fat content of the fleece (dirt-repellent).
- Kitchen vinegar – fixes the colour
Dosage
- Lanolin-based detergent: 4 tbsp per 4 litres of water
- Kitchen vinegar: 3 tbsp per 1 litre of water
Washing Process
- Briefly soak the product and carefully wash through
- Do not rub – wool felts through friction
- Rinse with fresh water
- Gently squeeze out excess water
- Shake out the product and carefully reshape
- Hang over a drying rack
- Gently move and knead the leather to prevent it from hardening
- Especially important: In the final drying phase, when only residual moisture remains, knead and stretch the leather until it is supple – leather tends to shrink when wet

Fleece Care: How to Care for Lambskins
Lambskins are naturally bactericidal, easy to care for and have a self-cleaning ability through the wool fat contained in the lambskin (dirt-repellent).
Regular Care
- Shake out vigorously in fresh air once a week and allow to air
- Do not hang on metal railings – tanning agents can dissolve rust from metal which may stain the fleece
For Stains
- Brush off lightly soiled areas with a fleece brush
- For stains: carefully stroke only the wool under running water
- If necessary use a mild wool detergent
- Do not rub – to prevent the wool from felting
Non-Washable Lambskins
Lambskins that are not washable do not normally get dirty. If necessary they can be cleaned professionally at a fleece cleaner.
